What if things go wrong?

10 ways to make your travel smooth

Things will go wrong when travelling. That’s why it’s important to plan ahead and use services you can rely on to minimise any disruption.

  • Build your own itinerary with every booking reference, contact number and booking details at your finger tips.
  • Confirm your bookings in advance.
  • Allow a buffer at every leg of your travel journey.
  • Expect the unexpected. Pack an umbrella, a snack and some spare underwear. You never know.
  • You get what you pay for so don’t cheap out unecessarily.
  • Avoid the “she’ll be right” plan. Whilst it can work, and it can even be fun… it can also be absolutely disastrous.
  • How will you make contact? Ensure you’ve got phone numbers, emails, a mobile with reception, an active sim-card and battery life. (Bring your charger in your carry-on!!)
  • If travelling with kids or your high-energy friend, be sure to plan ahead with some activities. Devices and ANC headphones are an easy solution, but you might want to think about a few sweet treats, puzzles and books as well. Personally, I recommend finding a great audiobook.
  • Upgrade your travel. If flying with Qantas, Townsville is home to a Qantas Club. Some Credit Cards will give you access to this if you’re not a frequent flyer. But there are other ways. Check out the extra leg-room seats in the exit rows on your flight for example.
  • Finally, if you really want a great trip in Townsville, book with Townsville Transfers. We want to help you have fabulous experience whether arriving or departing so let us know how we can help.
